10 Steps to improving your website.

A huge number of the websites currently posted on the Internet quietly fade into obscurity within a year or so. This is mainly due to the fact that the owners are not aware of what it takes to ensure that a website becomes successful, profitable and continues to grow. Simply posting a website on the Internet without following the steps below will only ensure one thing – FAILURE.

Many of you will know this from experience – however it is not too late to correct this.

Follow these steps and your chances of owning a profitable website will be greatly improved:

1. Have your website built by a professional – someone who knows the key elements required to increase your chance of success.

2. Review each page of your website for any errors regarding content, images, prices, contact information, spelling, product model numbers or anything else that will become an embarrassment should potential clients find it.

3. Include a variety of live Links on each of your website pages and test them to make sure they work.

4. Test your website to see if it can be viewed correctly in all of the main browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Explorer, Safari, Opera etc. and if not make the necessary corrections.

5. Add some affiliate products that visitors to your website may be interested in. This could help with repeat traffic and even extra profit.

6. Once your website is completed ensure that the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) functions have been thoroughly completed by someone who specializes in this field – absolutely critical.

7. Vigorously market your website on a very regular basis using a variety of tools such as e-articles, e-mail campaigns, e-newsletters, blogs, forum boards, ads etc. - again absolutely critical.
8. Continuously maintain and update your website adding new products, content, images, success stories, links, contests, news or any other items that will attract new visitors and increase repeat traffic.

9. Keep informed about new applications that could boost the excitement of your website such as 3-D ‘turning pages’ e-catalogues, e-zines, e-books. Audio, video, blogs, forums, e-courses and a whole host of other items.

10. Most important – if you do not have the knowledge or skill set to accomplish the above important steps, do not simply ignore them. Join in on our forum board
